From networking and the Oktoberfest to topics of the future – inspiration for the future
Autumn in Munich is all about new encounters, fruitful discussions and plenty of fresh ideas for the financial sector – both at the Wiesn and beyond.
Luxury watches as an investment: A look behind the scenes of the collection
To mark the kick-off on Monday, GFD attended TiAM FundResearch’s traditional partner meeting. How do luxury watches become a compelling collection that appreciates in value? Thomas Bachmann and Joram Scher from Bachmann & Scher provided exclusive insights from the perspective of experienced watch dealers and collectors. Both advise collectors and entrepreneurs for whom it is not just the individual watch that counts, but the development of a collection as a whole. The focus was on selecting sought-after models, ensuring a sensible mix across brands, eras and price segments, and carefully checking provenance, condition and completeness. Market liquidity, price trends and the right timing for buying or selling also play a role. As with any investment, returns are not guaranteed; careful due diligence and personalised advice remain crucial.
GFD × TiAM FundResearch: Financial PR and editorial services under one roof
For financial and asset managers, the question is much the same as for luxury watches: how can expertise be made visible to the right target audiences? This is precisely where the partnership between GFD Finanzkommunikation and TiAM FundResearch comes in. It combines strategic financial PR, journalistic storytelling and media expertise under one roof – from topic planning and positioning through to editorial preparation and cross-channel distribution. The particular added value for asset managers and discerning financial service providers lies in the end-to-end support and the ability to engage a specialist financial audience. Expert articles, interviews, podcasts, webinars and events are tailored to clear messages and the appropriate target audiences, and extended via print, online, newsletters and LinkedIn. Coordinated media relations, tailored campaigns and KPI-based reporting ensure streamlined processes and a consistent presence. This brings expertise to the fore and sustainably strengthens thought leadership. All from a single source.
Outlook: Night of Finance & Goldmarie 2026
As hard as it is to say goodbye to the Wiesn, the next highlight is already just around the corner. On 23 October 2026, TiAM FundResearch and Courage, the finance publication for women, will celebrate the premiere of the Night of Finance and the first Goldmarie Awards ceremony at the Macherei in Munich. The awards will recognise individuals, companies and ideas from the world of finance and business that stand out for their achievement, responsibility, innovative spirit and fresh perspectives. The Goldmarie stands for sustainable action, substance and long-term thinking – not for short-term success. A total of seven awards will be presented. Four of these will be presented by Courage, which is particularly committed to promoting and raising the profile of women. TiAM FundResearch will present three further awards.:
- Most Innovative Fund Management Company of the Year – for compelling and innovative product ideas
- Best ELTIF Issuer of the Year – based on a meta-study by the Financial Education Foundation, using more than 25 assessment criteria.
- Best Fund Management Company of the Year – determined on the basis of the FondsNote and the long-term track record in terms of performance and risk management.
We look forward to meeting new people, having fruitful discussions and generating fresh ideas for the financial sector – both at the Wiesn and at the Night of Finance. For further information about the event, please visit: https://night-of-finance.de/
Warm regards from Munich,
